MEDIA COATING MATERIAL FOR IMMOBILIZING BACTERIA AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: Provided is a medium coating material for immobilizing bacteria to media. Thereby, bacteria are easily immobilized to the media even having slippery surface, such as gravels or plastic carriers, which are filled in a bio film contactor. CONSTITUTION: Media coating material is made of 5-50ml of natural or synthetic rubber latex, 50-200mg/L of glucose as a substrate, 50-200mg/L of urea as a nitrogen source, and 50-200mg/L of NaCl for producing + ions. A method for manufacturing the medium coating material comprises the following steps of: i) mixing 50-200mg/L of glucose as a substrate, 50-200mg/L of urea as a nitrogen source, and 50-200mg/L of NaCl in the solution of natural rubber latex; ii) putting gravels or plastic media into the solution; iii) adding rough pearlite into the solution and mixing the solution; and iv) drying the media at room temperature.
