PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a large quantity of ink from being consumed at a recovery process of sucking ink from a discharge port of an ink-jet head, facilitate removing air bubbles and prevent ink colors from mixing. SOLUTION: The liquid-jet head includes a plurality of primary discharge ports 13m arranged in predetermined intervals, at least one sub discharge port 13s set along an arrangement direction of the primary discharge ports 13m at least to one end side of the arrangement direction via an interval larger than the arrangement interval of the primary discharge ports 13m, a plurality of ink chambers 14 to which the plurality of discharge ports 13m and 13s are open, a common ink chamber 15 having each ink chamber 14 communicated therewith to supply a liquid, and a plurality of discharge energy-generating parts set to the common ink chamber 15 to be opposite to the discharge ports 13m and 13s for generating a discharge energy to be utilized for discharging ink drops from the discharge ports 13m and 13s.
