PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for easily producing a molecular single crystal thin film usable for devices. SOLUTION: The objective process for the production of a crystal thin film comprises the use of an organic compound transiting from a crystal directly to Iso phase or nematic phase by heating, the cooling of the compound to the temperature to cause the crystallization by cooling, the heating of the compound near the critical temperature Tc to cause the phase transition from the crystal to the Iso phase or nematic phase to leave one or plural crystal nuclei and form the Iso phase or nematic phase except for the crystal nuclei part and the cooling of the product to effect the crystal growth using the crystal nuclei as the seed crystals.
