PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a folding container having a large internal volume which is close to the outer dimensions of the built-up folding container by constituting the folding container in such a manner that the side walls have a flat plate-form section, and at the same time, the external surface of the side wall is approximately flush with the external surface of the bottom section, or is positioned to be close to the external surface of the bottom section. SOLUTION: For this folding container, the side walls 2 and 3 which are arranged to surround the bottom section 1 can be superposed with the bottom section. In such a folding container, the side walls have a flat plate-form section. At the same time, the folding container is constituted in such a manner that the external surface of the side wall is approximately flush with the external surface of the bottom section, or is positioned to be close to the external surface of the bottom section.
