PURPOSE: A recording medium for storing additional information and a recording and restoring method are to store the additional information for restoring the data row/information divided when managing and editing a recorded content. CONSTITUTION: When data row/information is divided by editing/re-recording, additional information showing that the divided data row/information is one data row/information is stored at one of a manufacturer information area, a retrieving information area and a connecting information area. Particularly, the additional information is stored in a manufacturer information data area of the manufacturer information area. The additional information consists of the first information for designating the divided data row/information and the second information informing that the divided data row/information is one data row/information. The first information is identifying information of the retrieving information or the divided data row/information as a target of the second information.
