PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for preventing a tape cassette of a VCR from being pushed are provided to supply a user a fine touch when inserting a tape cassette and to preserve a performance of a VCR as it is by squeezing and releasing in accordance with each level. CONSTITUTION: A side bracket has the first release groove(7) and the second release groove(8) to perform squeezing and releasing. Two guiding bars(9) are included in the bracket(6) and guides a holder side plate(2).
