PURPOSE: A parking device makes planning easy and assures accuracy to conform with a select mode transformation of each type of vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A parking device comprises a parking gear(11), a parking pawl(13), a cam member(15), a rotator(18), a motive power transmitting member and a cable(16). The parking pawl(13) supported by a parking pawl shaft(12) rotates. The cam member(15) having a selector lever shift(14) is connected to the parking pawl(13). The rotator(18) rotates to the direction facing to the selector lever shift(14). The motive power transmitting member maintains constant tension thereof. The cable is longitudinally moved by operation of a gearshift lever. The cam member(15) rotates by operation of the gearshift lever so that the parking pawl(13) is selectively engaged with the parking gear(11).
