PURPOSE: A device to fix a guard cable is provided to prevent a small vehicle as well as a large vehicle from going off a crossroad while the stress given to the guard cable during a crash is dispersed and absorbed through a middle prop as a fixture for the guard cable and to absorb shocks by a rubber plate. CONSTITUTION: A fixture for a guard cable is a middle prop(1). The middle prop comprises a fixing pipe(10), cable fixing-plates(30,40) and a rubber plate(20). The lower end of the fixing rod is buried in a concrete block. In the cable fixing-plates, semicircular fixing-grooves(31,41) are formed, and a guard cable(110) is installed in the fixing groove. Both ends of the guard cable are fixed in an end-prop. The rubber plate is installed between the fixing rod and the cable fixing-plate and absorbs the shock generated during the crash of a vehicle. The guide cable is prevented from moving freely by the cable fixing-plates. Therefore, the stress, given to the guard cable during the crash of the vehicle, is dispersed and absorbed by the middle prop.
