FOAMED FIBER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce new foamed fibers by adding a foaming agent comprising an inorganic compound capable of leaving porous parts even after passage through a fiber-forming step required to improve physical properties such as drawing, drying or heat treatment with dry heat or wet heat and promoting the formation of a porous structure thereof for conversion of fibers into a porous state caused in a coagulating process of a wet spinning method to a spinning dope and to provide a method for producing the foamed fibers. SOLUTION: Foaming is carried out in an acidic bath in a process for carrying out a wet spinning of the spinning dope prepared by adding a boron hydride compound thereto and forming the fibers. Thereby, the foamed fibers are obtained.
