PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overload protection device which allows setting a press load capable of tearing a metal seal without employing a separation valve and for every metal sealed hydraulic pressure overload protection unit. SOLUTION: The device is installed with a solenoid valve tearing the metal seal of a metal sealed hydraulic pressure overload protection unit, a control apparatus which controls the solenoid valve, and a load detection apparatus. In this arrangement, when the metal sealed hydraulic pressure overload protection unit of minimum one has received an over load, all solenoid valves are activated and all metal seals of the metal sealed hydraulic pressure overload protection units may be torn. Also, in correspondence with every load detection apparatus, there can be set a press load for every metal sealed hydraulic pressure overload protection unit or every combined metal sealed hydraulic pressure overload protection unit by setting the upper limit value of the press load in the control apparatus, respectively.
