PURPOSE: A drive cable laser welding apparatus for small scale sealed source assemblies, and a polishing apparatus are provided to substantially increase working efficiency, productivity and quality of products by release-proofing welding the both ends of the cut area of the drive cable to both ends of which a sealed source capsule and an end cap are connected, polishing the welding area of the cut driving cable and mechanically automating the operating process of welding a capsule cap and end cap of the sealed source capsule to the driving cable. CONSTITUTION: The drive cable laser welding apparatus comprises a cable fixing and rotating part (110) rotating the lead-in driving cable (3) in the fixed state, and moving the cable up and down in a certain gap; a cable and cap supporting part (130) collinearly supporting the driving cable (3), a capsule cap and an end cap with spaced apart from the cable fixing and rotating part (110) in a certain gap; and a welding part (150) for release-proofing welding the driving cable (3) which is fixed and rotated by being installed between the cable fixing and rotating part (110) and the cable and cap supporting part (130) and welding to connect the driving cable (3), capsule cap and end cap.
