PURPOSE: A screen stabilizing mute apparatus and a mute signal generating method are provided to simultaneously generate hardware and software mute signals by generating the hardware mute signal using an interrupt signal generated by a microcomputer. CONSTITUTION: A horizontal synchronous signal sensing circuit(11a) senses an input horizontal synchronous signal. When the horizontal synchronous signal is not inputted to the horizontal synchronous signal sensing circuit(11a), the horizontal synchronous signal sensing circuit(11a) outputs a predetermined sensing result signal to an interrupt terminal(INT) of a microcomputer(12). The microcomputer(12) outputs an interrupt signal generated according to the predetermined sensing result signal as a mute signal. The microcomputer(12) discriminates whether horizontal and vertical synchronous signal are inputted. When the horizontal and vertical synchronous signal are not inputted for a predetermined time, the microcomputer(12) generate a mute signal. |
