摘要 PURPOSE: A power control method of a common packet channel is provided to optimize a system performance by performing a power control of one slot length required by the system by transmitting a power control command for an uplink-common packet channel(UL-CPCH) at a slot starting point of a downlink-control channel by a base station(BS). CONSTITUTION: A user(UE) receives pilot information(600) transmitted from a base station(BS) through a downlink-control channel, measures a signal-noise ratio(SIR) for a downlink channel, and transmits a TPC(Transmit Power Control)(603) through a control channel of an uplink-common packet channel(UL-CPCH) to the base station(BS) according to the measure signal-noise ratio(SIR). Then, the base station controls its own power according to the TPC(603) transmitted from the user(UE). The base station measures a signal-noise ratio(IR) of the uplink channel, and transmits one symbol of TPC(603) to the user(UE) at the starting point of the uplink-control channel to control the power of the uplink-common packet channel(UL-CPCH) in consideration of the measured signal-noise ratio(SIR) of the uplink channel. In this respect, considering that there exists a time offset of 1024 chips between the downlink-control channel and uplink-common packet channel, the user can obtain processing time taken for changing the power by applying a power control bit from the time point at which one symbol of TPC(601) are all received from the base station and a starting point at which pilot information of a newly starting slot starts. Accordingly, the user(UE) receives all of the TPC(601), and controls the power according to the TPC(601) received at the starting point of the pilot information(604) of the newly starting slot after a delay time of 512 chips elapses, Consequently, the user(UE) controls the power of the optimum one slot length required by the system for the uplink-common packet channel(UL-CPCH).
