NOVEL MICROORGANISM, BACILLUS SUBTILLIS B-4228 AND COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A microorganism, Bacillus subtilis B-4228 and a composition containing the same are provided for preventing the production of red pigments in ginseng. CONSTITUTION: The microorganism Bacillus subtilis B-4228(KCTC 0657BP) prevents the production of red pigments by Penicillium purpurogenum in ginseng and the growth of Trichoderma viride which facilitate the production of red pigments by Penicillium purpurogenum. The composition contains Bacillus subtilis B-4228(KCTC 0657BP). In order to prevent the production of red pigments by Penicillium purpurogenum, the composition is sprayed to the roots of ginseng or the soil around the ginseng, or the ginseng is dipped in a solution diluted to 1x106 to 1x109 cells per ml for 24 to 144 hours.
