PURPOSE: A testing apparatus and a method using an MRCU-LAN in a testing system of equipment are provided to be easily adapted to a system using a stream type socket interface and distribute a downloading load of a work station by facilitating repeatedly monitoring and downloading an operation state of a testing-target equipment in a development stage wanting an operation state testing by using an MRCU-LAN serial interface and an Ethernet interface. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of testing-target equipment(32) are respectively connected through an RS-232C interface to an MRCU-LAN(31). The MRCU-LAN(31) is connected through the RS-232C interface to the plurality of testing-target equipment(32) and connected to networks(21-29) constructed for testing the equipment through a TCP/IP interface. Accordingly, by controlling an input and an output of a test data for checking an operation state of the plurality of testing-target equipment(32) and an output data for the testing result, the operation is monitored and downloaded. A server work station(25) is connected through a socket, a TCP/IP interface, to the MRCU-LAN(31) and controls a connection request to the testing-target equipment(32) by a client on the networks(21-29). Accordingly, when the network and the testing-target equipment are successfully connected, the testing method using the MRCU-LAN is performed to test the equipment of a testing system. Thus, many users can simultaneously connect to the plurality of testing-target equipment(32), transmit a test data for testing, and monitor or download the operation of the testing-target equipment(32). At this time, a stream type socket interface of the MRCU-LAN(31) is used so that a connection state of a user for a specific testing-target equipment(32) is maintained without being cut off by a connection request by a different user.
