PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating an organochlorine compound containing gas generated at the time of incineration of municipal solid waste or industrial waste. SOLUTION: In a method for treating an organochlorine compound containing gas by containing the organochlorine compound containing gas with molecular oxygen in the presence of a catalyst, the method is characterized by using a calcium containing compound obtained by heating slaked lime (Ca(OH)2) as a catalyst in the presence of steaem and treating the gas at an approximately equivalent temperature to that of side heating in the presence of steam. |
