PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air belt maintained in a flat belt shape excellently, allowed to be passed through a through anchor or directly wound up on a retractor, and worn comfortably. SOLUTION: An air belt 10 is provided with a bag 11, tubular mesh webbing 12 made of fabric/knitting surrounding the bag 11, and a hollow band-type cover 13 surrounding the mesh webbing 12. The mesh webbing 12 can be hardly expanded longitudinally but can be flexibly expanded/shrunk in the width direction. In the cover 13, the width directional hardness is higher than the longitudinal one, so that it can be hardly bent in the width direction but can be bent flexibly in the longitudinal direction. The cover 13 is formed into a flat tube by folding up a flat long sheet along the longitudinal folding line and sewing the lateral sides in the longitudinal direction together by means of a thread 14. The thread 14 is torn when the bag 11 is expanded. |
