PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tag preparing device which prevents noise from being generated by printing a tag with the help of a thermal printer and also upgrades the print quality. SOLUTION: This tag preparing device comprises a thermal printer 1 which makes a slip sheet 9 consisting of continuously printed slips 9a by printing a web 5, a folding mechanism 2 which folds the slip sheet 9 in a bellows fashion so that the slips 9a are superposed on each other and an orderly arrangement mechanism 3 which keeps the slip sheet 9 folded in a bellows fashion in a folded state. A plurality of the slips 9a forming a tag are printed by the thermal printer 1 using a routine heat-sensitive paper or a plain paper, the printing process being performed per individual slip 9a. For this reason, noise generated during printing the slip 9a is subdued and besides, the print quality is upgraded.
