PURPOSE: A power supply saving control device and a method of a display device are provided to save power consumption in an off mode by blocking all power except power of a microprocessor and an interrupt circuit CONSTITUTION: A microprocessor(30) receives a synchronizing signal to output a control signal according to a power supply saving mode. A synchronizing processor(40) feedbacks a recognition signal according to the presence or absence of the synchronizing signal provided through the microprocessor(30) to the microprocessor. An interrupt circuit(20) is operated in accordance with the control signal from the microprocessor(30) and transfers corresponding information to the microprocessor in a vertical synchronizing signal is input from a display signal source, thereby switching the power supply saving mode.
