METHOD FOR DEOXIDIZING AUSTENITIC STAINLESS STEEL

PURPOSE: A method for deoxidizing austenitic stainless steel is provided to reduce linear defects due to fine slivers on the surface of cold rolled coil when cold-rolling stainless molten steel by reducing contents of silica inclusions in austenitic stainless molten steel containing about 2 wt.% or more of silicon. CONSTITUTION: In a method for deoxidizing decarburized austenitic stainless molten steel, the method comprises the steps of first adding step in which about 1 wt.% of Mn is added to the molten steel; second adding step in which silicon is added so that about 0.24 wt.% of silicon is maintained in the molten steel; third adding step in which about 0.02 to 0.03 wt.% of aluminum is added to the molten steel; and fourth adding step in which silicon alloyed iron is added to the molten steel so that about 3 wt.% of silicon is maintained in the molten steel.
