APPARATUS FOR CONVEYING OPTICAL PICK-UP

PURPOSE: An apparatus for conveying an optical pick-up is to constantly transmit driving force of a driving motor to the pick-up to constantly engage a rack and a pinion, thereby increasing performance of the pick-up. CONSTITUTION: A gear unit(41) transforms driving force of a driving motor(33) into a rotational motion. A rack(36) transforms the rotational motion of the gear unit into reciprocating motion and transmits to an optical pick-up unit. A position transforming portion transforms an engaging portion between a gear and the gear unit according to movement of the optical pick-up unit. In the gear unit, a driving gear(43) is engaged with a rotational shaft of the driving motor. The rack is engaged with a pinion(47). A central gear(45) is disposed between the driving gear and the pinion to transmit the rotational force of the driving gear to the pinion. In the position transforming portion, a swing arm rotates the pinion with respect to a rotational shaft of the central gear. An elastic supporting portion is disposed to be adjacent to a free end of the swing arm to elastically support the swing arm upward.
