PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adjustable valve mechanism capable of continuously changing valve lift timing and valve lift quantity. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a valve 10 for gas intake or discharge of an engine having a plate-shaped valve stem end 10b, a roller lifter 16 applied to the valve stem end 10b of the valve 10 for gas intake or discharge for lifting the valve 10 for gas intake or discharge, a lift profile plate 20 having a lift profile composed of a straight part and a curved part to which a plate roller 18 coaxially formed with the roller lifter 16 is applied, and movable control means 34, 38, 40 for movably controlling the lift profile plate 20, where valve timing and lift quantity are continuously changed.
