摘要 <p>PURPOSE: A cold start operating method of a non-operating furnace is provided to reduce a power basic unit and shorten a time for steel making so as to improve productivity by securing the heat source inside the furnace at a non-operating furnace, thereby protecting the lower electrode and the refractories on the furnace and preheating the charged scraps, and improve the quality of the molten steel by sublating the excessive discharging of slag. CONSTITUTION: The cold start operating method comprises the steps of retaining about 15 to 20 tons of the residual molten metal during tapping inside the furnace for protecting the heat inside the non-operating furnace in the production suspension state; inserting an igniting billet (200) for conducting into the hole parts of the lower electrode after retaining the residual molten metal inside the furnace, igniting coke with the heat of the residual molten metal and charging 1500 to 2000 kg of coke onto the upper part of the residual molten metal so that the heat of the furnace is protected by the oxidizing heat of the ignited coke, and the preheating of the scraps is progressed; charging the scraps into the furnace after charging the coke; blowing oxygen only into the furnace for about 30 minutes so that the temperature of refractories on the bottom part (150) of the furnace is compensated and simultaneously the scraps are preheated using the oxidizing heat of the coke; and impressing the power to smelt the scraps.</p>
