PURPOSE: A cylindrical secondary battery is provided which increases ionic conductivity and safety. CONSTITUTION: In a cylindrical secondary battery comprising a cylindrical case, strip shaped cathode and anode plates (11,13) alternately installed inside the case, a separator interposed between the cathode and anode plates (11,13), and a cap cover member installed on the cathode plate (11) and conducted to the cathode plate (11), the secondary battery is constructed so that one of the anode plate (13) or the cathode plate (11) is enveloped by the separator (22) in an envelope shape.
