PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling multiple ignition in cold starting of an automobile are provided to increase output of an engine with preventing the loss of the fire. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling multiple ignition in cold starting of an automobile includes an ECU outputting a plurality of ignition pulses during one explosive stroke, a switching transistor successively performing turn-on motion according to the number of the ignition pulses, an ignition coil(IGC) forming secondary high pressure according to the coil ratio by using power source applied from a battery(B+) as a current path is controlled by the switching transistor, a distributor(10) distributing high pressure applied from the ignition coil to an ignition plug(20), and the ignition plug discharged several times by the high pressure distributed and applied from the distributor for generating ignition flames.
