PURPOSE: An optical scanning system of a printer and a page synchronous signal controlling method thereof are provided to control an image write time by each light scan units which responds to a change of a rotating period of a photosensitive belt. CONSTITUTION: A recognition pattern detector(26) detects a passing of a recognition pattern formed on a photosensitive belt and outputs a recognition pattern passing signal. A plurality of light scan units(14 - 17) scan lights to a photosensitive belt(11). A belt circulation period counter(40) calculates and sequentially outputs a rotating period of the photosensitive belt(11) based on the recognition pattern passing signal. A page synchronous signal generation interval controller(50) controls a page synchronous generation interval with respect to each light scan unit(14 - 17) in response to a change of the rotating period from the circulation period counter(40). A light scan controller(60) controls the plurality of light scan units(14 - 17) so that a light is emitted to a photosensitive medium in response to an image information in synchronism with a page synchronous signal.
