PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a bacterium of the genus Clostridium of spore formation type, capable of detecting Clostridium in a sample in a shorter period and more accurately than a culture method, especially suitable for quality and hygienic test of food. SOLUTION: A method for detecting a bacterium of the genus Clostridium by PCR method is provided. The method includes two kinds of techniques of a random amplification method utilizing primer A and a specific gene (SpoA gene) amplification method utilizing primer BK and primer BR.
