PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve a problem that the manufacture of a die, a raw material, and a burnt tile is difficult and defects are liable to occur on steps in a conventional structure for forming the steps on the end sides of plain tile sections and convex tile sections and a problem that the workability is deteriorated because excess work such as work is required for forming steps thus resulting in low efficiency. SOLUTION: An eave end roof tile or a pantile 1,100 is formed with the plain tile sections 111 and 100, 111 partially formed with steps and the convex tile sections 112 and 100, 112 having stepped sections at hip sections. Flat sections 113 and 100, 113 with the prescribed width are formed on the end insides 111' and 100, 111' of the plain tile sections 111 and 100, 111, and straight line sections 115 and 100, 115 to be kept in contact with the flat sections 113 and 100, 113 are formed on the end sides of the convex tile sections 113 and 100, 113. The manufacture and handling of the die, the raw material, and the burnt tile are facilitated, the steps are eliminated, and the occurrence of defects and defective products can be prevented.
