PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat insulation device for a manhole in which transfer of heat from the underside of a cover body of the manhole can be securely prevented to prevent fusion of snow on the cover body of the manhole by holding a sufficient interval between the cover body of the manhole and a heat insulating plate member for forming a thick air layer between them. SOLUTION: In this heat insulation device for a manhole 1 comprising a straight wall part 2, and a diagonal wall part 4 provided with a manhole cover body 3 at an upper end, a heat insulating plate member 5 is disposed at a boundary position between the straight wall part 2 and the diagonal wall part 4, and an outer circumference of the heat insulating plate member 5 is sealed to an inner circumference of the straight wall part 2 by a sealing member 9.
