PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll grinding device which improves the quality of goods by improving the surface of rolls and increases its productivity by making rolling stable. SOLUTION: Opposite to upper and lower work rolls 3, at least one grinder is arranged. The grinder is rotated while reciprocating it in the axial direction of the roll 3. A variable offset means which can vary offset from the axial center of one or more grinders to the axial center of the roll 3, is provided in the roll grinding device 12 grinding the roll 3 so as to always maintain the offset lower than a certain level and further, to adjust respective offsets so that the offsets in the upper work roll and the lower work roll are kept equal to each other.
