PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner consuming less electric power with improved operability. SOLUTION: The projection margin of a brush 4 of this vacuum cleaner is large for securely wiping out dust on a floor surface only when the brush 4 is rotated, while on the other occasions when the brush 4 is not necessary, the projection margin of the brush 4 is reduced so that the vacuum cleaner can be operated easily.
