PURPOSE: An optical recording medium and optical recording device are provided which have satisfactory erasure characteristic, small jitter and good maintenance endurance, do not generate cross erasure even when a substrate with narrow track width is used, do not deteriorate signal quality even if a laser beam for reproduction is repeatedly incident. CONSTITUTION: An optical recording medium includes the first dielectric layer, the first boundary layer, a recording layer, the second boundary layer, an absorption quantity correcting layer and a reflecting layer which are sequentially formed on a substrate. The optical recording medium has a specific recording layer composition. Each of the first and second boundary layers has at least one of carbon, carbide, oxide and nitride as a main component. The refractive index of the absorption quantity correcting layer is 1.0 to 4.0 and its attenuation coefficient is 0.5 to 3.0. |
