PURPOSE: A resonant muffler for controlling flow of vehicle exhaust gas is provided to improve the capacity of engine output with reducing exhaust noise and back pressure by opening and shutting discharge pipes with using the compressed air and a valve. CONSTITUTION: In a resonant muffler having a plurality of porous pipes installed inside of a shell covering separated inflow pipe(1) and discharge pipes(2a,2b) with being supported by partitions(4a,4b,4c), a resonant muffler for controlling flow of vehicle exhaust gas includes a valve(6) installed in a front end of one discharge pipe for opening and shutting the discharge pipes, wherein the valve is operated by air pressure of a compressed air source(8) by a signal applied from an ECU(7) operating corresponding to the rotary frequency of an engine.
