摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum-(carbon fiber)-based composite material which has high thermal conductivity and can be produced without using any infiltration method while inhibiting aluminum carbide from being formed, and also to provide a production process of the composite material. SOLUTION: This production process of the aluminum-(carbon fiber)-based composite material comprises: depositing an aluminum powder 1 on a carbon fiber fabric sheet 2 in an aqueous solution by electrophoresis to form a composite sheet; stacking up such plural composite sheets to form a stack; subjecting the stack to press forming into a formed body; and subjecting the formed body to hot forging to produce the objective composite material. This aluminum-(carbon fiber)-based composite material contains 30-90 vol.% of carbon fiber and has >=200 W/m.K thermal conductivity (Kx) in the direction parallel to the direction of orientation of the carbon fiber fabric sheet 2 and >=150 W/m.K thermal conductivity (Ky) in the direction perpendicular to this direction of orientation and is suitable as a heat sink material for use in a semiconductor manufacturing equipment.</p>
