PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking force assisting device capable of adjusting braking force by a manual operation of a driver in a brake system. SOLUTION: This braking force assisting device has a fluid tank 11, a braking force imparting means 30 for imparting braking force to a wheel by feeding a fluid in the fluid tank 11, a brake pedal 17a for carrying out liquid feeding of a main fluid circuit 12 for communicating the fluid tank 11 and the braking force imparting means 30, a sub-fluid circuit 20 disposed in parallel to the main fluid circuit 12 and communicating the fluid tank 11 with the baking force imparting means 30, a sub-value 22 disposed in the sub-fluid circuit 20 and controlling a fluid fed from the fluid tank 11 to the baking force imparting means 30 through the sub-fluid circuit 20 at the time of realization of an assistant braking force imparting condition, and a control valve 21 disposed in series to the sub-valve 22 in the sub-fluid circuit 20 and stepwise varying an open degree by a manual operation of a driver.
