PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire in which an enhancement of an operation stability and an enhancement of comfortability on ride are compatible at a high dimension. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire is provided with a tread portion 1; a side wall portion 2; and a bead portion 3. The tire is provided with at least one sheet of carcass ply 5 which troidally extends between bead cores 4 disposed on the respective bead portions 3 and of which a side end portion is radially and outwardly wound and returned around the bead cores 4; a bead filler 1 having an approximately triangular shape and disposed adjacent to an outer periphery surface of the bead cores 4 between a body portion 5a of the carcass ply 5 and a wound-returned portion 5b; a cord reinforcement layer 8 which comprises at least one cord 8a having a spiral winding structure of which a radial inner end is disposed near the bead cores and of which a radial outer end is disposed outwardly as compared with the radial outer end of the bead filler 7. A shore A hardness of the rubber constituting the bead filler 7 is made to 65 deg. or more and a radial outer end position of the rubber reinforcement layer 8 is within a range of 30-85% of a tire cross section height in a widthwise cross section of the tire when measuring from the bead cores 4 side.
