摘要 PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for measuring dispersion in an optical transmission line are provided to measure the amount and polarity of dispersion without the necessity of using a reference signal, regardless of the type of an optical fiber, the amount of dispersion and the length of an optical transmission line. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for measuring dispersion in an optical transmission line consists of an optical signal generation part(310), an optical signal modulation part(320), an optical transmission line(330), an amplitude measurement part(340), and a dispersion measurement part(350). The optical signal generation part(310) is a wavelength-variable light source. The optical signal modulation part(320) is comprised of an optical modulator(321) modulating an optical signal, a sine wave signal generator(322) capable of frequency conversion, and a bias voltmeter(323) providing a bias to the optical modulator(321). The amplitude measurement part(340) is composed of an optical detector(341) detecting the optical signal and an amplitude measurer(342) measuring the size of the received optical signal.
