PURPOSE: A leakage prevention apparatus for refrigerator filter is provided to achieve an improved user convenience by avoiding water leakage from the water supply source through the water supply pipe when the filter is detached from the refrigerator. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises a valve for adjusting water supply from a water supply source into a refrigerator; a filter(50) for filtering the water being supplied into the refrigerator through the valve; a filter holder(51) having the filter coupled to the filter holder to be attachable/detachable from/to the filter holder, and which is mounted in the refrigerator; and a switching element(70) mounted at the front surface of the holder cap and which generates a predetermined signal in accordance with the attachment/detachment of the filter to/from the filter holder. The valve opens/shuts in accordance with the signal output from the switching element.
