The air pistol has a manually releasable locking device which is removable after releasing a tension lever (6). At least a part of the locking device is connected to the pistol. The locking device is a spring-loaded (32) stop pawl (27). The stop pawl on fixture of the tension lever is pressed back against the force of the spring and on reaching the locking position is secured behind a projection. The centre of gravity of the removable tension lever is located in that length area of the weapon in which is located the centre of gravity position of the tension lever are adjustable by a weight piece fixed to the tension lever.
