PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevating/lowering type door automatically lockable, interlocking with the closing operation of a paper sliding screen in closing an opened elevating/lowering type paper sliding screen, and a locking mechanism used therefor. SOLUTION: The locking mechanism A of the elevating/lowering type door having a vertically movable indoor paper sliding screen 1 and an outdoor paper sliding screen 2 comprises a lock operating mechanism 20 to be mounted on a meeting stile of the indoor paper sliding screen 1 and a lock receiving mechanism 30 to be mounted on a meeting stile of the outdoor paper sliding screen 2. The lock operating mechanism 20 is provided with a locking means 22 and a locked means 23 to be depressed on the outdoor side by elastic bodies 24 and 25 via an interlocking means 26 on a lock case 21. The locking means 22 is protruded to the outdoor side to be locked by the lock receiving mechanism 30 via the interlocking means 26 by actuating the locked means 23 of the lock operating mechanism 20 on the lock receiving mechanism 30 of the outdoor paper sliding screen 2 through the closing action of the indoor paper sliding screen 1, and an unlocking means 40 to unlock the lock receiving mechanism 30 is provided on the locking means 22.
