<p>PURPOSE: To arrange batteries in a limited space without changing the design of a unit cell by using a plurality of long cylindrical batteries having a substantially elliptic section having a major axis and a minor axis, and arranging them with the major axes inclined within a plane parallel to the substantially elliptic section. CONSTITUTION: A battery case 3 is formed of Al alloy or the like, and an elliptic lid 3b is fitted to the upper end opening of a long cylindrical vessel-like case body 3a, and the circumference is sealed and fixed by welding. A positive electrode terminal 4 and negative electrode terminal 5 connected to a generating element are protruded upward from the open holes of the lid plate 3b, and insulatingly sealed and fixed by sealing the clearances with the holes. The long cylindrical battery is arranged with the major axis being inclined, whereby the height in arrangement can be reduced so as to be loadable in battery arrangement parts having various spaces, and the reduction in cost and the improvement in working efficiency can be attained. When a plurality of batteries are arranged so that the battery lid surfaces or bottom surfaces are flush with each other, the connection between terminals can be facilitated to improve the capacity efficiency, and when the batteries are arranged at intervals, the cooling efficiency of the batteries can be enhanced.</p> |
