DATA PROTECTION METHOD EMBEDDED IN LOST MOBILE TERMINAL AND RECORDING MEDIA THEREFOR

PURPOSE: A data protection method embedded in a lost mobile terminal and a recording media therefor are provided so that a loser can directly delete data embedded in his mobile terminal or make the data impossible to read in case that his mobile terminal is lost. CONSTITUTION: A loser directly calls SMS(Short Message Service) to his lost mobile terminal(200). The loser transmits PCI to the mobile terminal using SMS(202). If the lost terminal receives the short message, the terminal discriminates PCI among the received short message(204). The lost terminal judges whether PCI is a ciphertext(206). If PCI is a ciphertext, the lost terminal deciphers the ciphertext using a private key(208). The lost terminal compares PCI with previously stored information by items(210). The lost terminal judges whether comparison is successful(212). If comparison is successful, the lost terminal confirms the loser's data protection request items from PCI and processes data embedded in the terminal according to the requested items(214). Meanwhile, if comparison is successful, the lost terminal deletes received PCI(216).
