DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DISPLAYING ELECTRONIC PROGRAM GUIDE

PURPOSE: A device and a method for displaying an electronic program guide are respectively provided to allow a user easily to search programs for a desirable time period by displaying electronic program guide data over all times. CONSTITUTION: The electronic program guide display device displays electronic program guide data including an event information table in which program information according to each channel is recorded. The apparatus includes a demultiplexer(150), a controller(170) and a video decoder(190). The demuliplexer(150) outputs video data, audio data and information data according to a packet identifier which is in the header of the transport packet. The controller(170) detects the electronic program guide data from the information data and generates a time information based on the electronic program guide data. The video decoder(190) generates a graphic signal based on the time information data from the controller(170).
