PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anionic electrodeposition coating excellent in finish appearance. SOLUTION: The anionic electrodeposition coating comprises a hydrotalcite compound represented by the formula: Mgy-xAlx(OH)2y.Ax/yn-.mH2O (wherein A- is an n-valent anion, for example, a monovalent or divalent anion such as OH-, Cl-, CO32- and the like; and x, y and m are each a number satisfying 0<x, 2x<=y and 0<m, respectively), preferably by the formula: Ma1-xAlx(OH)2.(CO3)x/2.mH2O (wherein 0<x<=0.5). The hydrotalcite compound has a specific surface area (BET) of preferably 1-50 m2/g, particularly preferably 2-40 m2/g.
