<p>Bending machine which can bend bars in a spiral form of >=1 turn comprises several elements which can be butted together to produce the required spiral and which stretch over about one turn. The first element at the interior has a groove for initially situating the bar to be bent and a pressure device is applied to maintain the bar in position. A drive produces a movement of the element w.r.t. the pressure device and causes the bar to bend around the element. Successively elements are axially moved upwards to abutt the previous element and further bending of the bar around the new element is carried out until the required spiral is produced. The operation is continuous and buckling is prevented.</p> |
