PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sandwich sandwiched portions between the mating surfaces of a plurality of building members and cause a cover portion to cover up the boundary of the joint between the building members to thereby conceal any misalignment between the building members at the joint. SOLUTION: Wood screws or the like are passed through holes 3 in the sandwiched portions 2 of a cover member 1 and the sandwiched portions 2 are fixed to the mating surfaces 11 of the building members. One of the already machined building members 11 is joined to the other of the building members 10. The cover portion 4 of the cover member 1 is in the form of an elongate plate curved downward into a gutter shape. The plurality of sandwiched portions 2 are integrally formed along the centerline of the lower surface of the cover portion 4 while projecting downwards. The sandwiched portions 2 of the cover member 1 are sandwiched and fixed between the mating surfaces 12, 13 of the building members 10, 11 and the cover portion 4 is exposed to the outsides of the mating surfaces 12, 13 of the plurality of building members 10, 11 so that the boundary of the joint between the building members 10, 11 is concealed by the cover portion 4.
