METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF SAPONIFIED ETHYLENE-VINYL ACETATE COPOLYMER COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer composition which does not discolor (does not yellow), can be efficiently produced, and is excellent in appearance, gas barrier properties, and moldability in continuous stretch thermoforming. SOLUTION: At least two kinds of saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer solution are mixed. The resultant mixture is subjected to coagulation- precipitation to give a saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer composition having a water content of 5-60 wt.%, which is melt kneaded to reduce the water content to lower than 5 wt.%.
