PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a physical burden on a caring person when transferring a person to be cared between a bed and a wheelchair without causing a burden on a person to be cared. SOLUTION: A person to be cared can move or be transferred by a care assisting device 1. One end of a toilet type seat part 3 is supported by a slider moving vertically by hydraulic pressure so as to form a cantilever structure. When using the device, after the seat section 3 is positioned on a bed, the person to be cared is allowed to sit on the seat section 3 to be transferred from the bed. In order to transfer the person to a wheelchair from this state, the person A is fixed to the position with a supporting belt 31 provided on right and left supporting arms 30, and then the seat section 3 is lowered. A space is made between the person A and the seat section 3, the person is positioned in the upper part of the seat of the wheelchair and the seat section 3 is positioned in the lower part of the seat.
