PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fitting structure capable of sufficiently keeping the holding power over a long period. SOLUTION: The inner face of the butt end of the butt section 1 of a fishing rod is provided with a cylindrical member 10, a butt stopper 14 detachably screwed into the butt end of the cylindrical member 10, a cushioning rubber 13 at the tip side (positioned at the butt side of the cylindrical member 10) of the butt stopper 14 and a cylindrical elastic member 12 positioned at the butt side of the cylindrical member 10 to cover the side face of the butt stopper. Fitting protrusions 11 are radially protruded inward on the inner circumference of the tip section of the cylindrical member 10 and integrally formed at regular spacings. The fitting protrusion 11 is extended by about 10-20 mm from a side face of the tip section side of the cylindrical member 10 toward the center of the axial direction slightly shifted to the butt end. The side part 11a of the tip section is chamfered to increase the diameter toward the tip section.
