WEATHERSTRIP ARTICLE AND ITS MAKING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide weatherstrip articles which enable continuous crosslinking molding in the air with a peroxide crosslinking system which exhibits resistance to compression set and heat resistance exceptionally superior to those of the sulfur vulcanization system and furthermore, can carry out a secondary treatment on the surfaces of articles such as urethane coating and filling without causing any problem. SOLUTION: The weatherstrip articles are obtained by vulcanizing an unvulcanized rubber molded product composed of an ethylene/α-olefin/non-conjugated polyene copolymer rubber composition whose surface has been treated with a coating fluid containing at least one of xanthate type vulcanization accelerators represented by the formula: (R-O-CS-S-)nMn+ (wherein R is a 1-30C alkyl group; (n) is an integer of 1-3; and Mn+ is an n-valent metallic ion or an ammonium ion) and sulfur or a sulfur atom-containing vulcanization accelerator capable of becoming a vulcanizing agent, and a method of making the same is provided.
